The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) program runs at Peachester school for students in years 4-6. The program focuses on teaching students to grow, harvest, cook and share seasonal produce.
Lessons are strongly linked to the curriculum and provide students with opportunities to demonstrate knowledge and skills in practical settings.
Garden activities
Students have one 45 minute garden lesson per week. In our extensive vegetable garden we grow our seasonal produce which is cooked in our beautiful kitchen.
Kitchen activities
Students have one 90 minute kitchen lesson per week. We have a beautiful purpose built teaching kitchen which can accommodate a class of students.
