Indigenous Use
Grows to fifteen metres. The vine was used for climbing, woven into fish traps and nets, basket weaving and used for tying and stitching on roof material. The sap was used to treat sore eyes and the buds were mixed with water to treat toothache, sore throat and chest complaints. The roots of the vine were a source of water. Many birds are attracted to its white berries. It provides larval food for the Common Pencilled-blue butterfly. {
